Minutes from downtown, in a soothing accented with beautiful views of Noumea and the lagoon, the Zoological and Forest Park is a showcase of the Caledonian nature covering over 30 hectares in the heart of unspoilt area of dry forest. It has many animals (like the Cagou , Uvea parakeet, New Caledonian Crow, New Caledonian Imperial-dove , geckos ... ) and plants ( like palms , the Araucaria , ...) and is involved in the conservation of many of them . The park preserves and presents the original sclerophyllous forest . The House of Nature provides information on the Caledonian terrestrial ecosystems .
